イラク軍が、各国の支援を得ているにも関わらず、重要な都市である、 Ramadiからあっさり撤退したことにつき、アメリカのメディアは、やる気が不足しているんじゃないかという、政府高官の疑念の思いを相次いで報じていますが、そもそもテロリストと国の正規軍では、モチベーションが違うだろうという言うのが、今日紹介した、CIA元高官の見解です。

でもってISISに勝つために取りうる戦術は唯一つ、地上軍を投入し、ある程度の犠牲は覚悟の上で、拠点を死守することなのだそうです。どんなに、軍備や財政に差があっても、それが戦争というものなのでしょう。こういう話題が普通に出てくるアメリカのニュースを聞いた後、日本の集団自衛権に関する報道を見ると彼我の違いに驚かされます。日本は少し、平和過ぎる気がします。
