The Diplomatic Bluebook says that based on deep remorse over the war, Japan has built a society that honors freedom, democracy and respect for basic human rights. It says the nation has consistently shown its readiness to contribute to peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.
The report stresses that Japan will remain a pacifist nation, and will make even more proactive contributions to peace under the principle of international cooperation.

「外交青書は、過去の戦争に対する深い反省を基に、日本は自由と民主主義と基本的人権を尊重する社会を築いてきたとしてる。日本は、常にアジアと世界の安定と平和に貢献してきた。

青書は、日本が平和主義国家であることも強調している。そして、今後国際社会の平和に、より積極的な貢献を果たす意志があることも伝えている。」
