最高裁の評議は5対4の僅差でした。最高裁に限らず、反対意見は少なからずあり、This Weekでは、この後、Mike Huckabee前アーカンソー州知事が登場し、この判決を徹底的に非難しています。圧倒的多数の人が、結婚とは男女間でするものだと考えているはずだと。

Mike Huckabee氏は、来年の大統領選の共和党候補でもあり、ISIS、オバマケアやTPPと並んで今回の同性婚についての見解も大統領戦を巡る争点の一つになるかもしれません。
